Middle name for Violet... Marie or Mae?

Due this spring, and I'm pretty set on Violet as a first name if I have a girl.

Both my grandmother and her mother had the middle name Mae, and I always thought I'd like to use that as a middle name if I had a daughter. Trouble is, I'm not sure how I like the sound of Violet Mae together. I feel like Violet sounds better with a multi-syllable middle name, so I've been considering Violet Marie instead, which I think sounds very cute but has less sentimental value.

Any thoughts? Collins is the last name if that's of any consequence.

I think Violet Mae sounds fine. I prefer family connection to sounding cute.

Even before opening the thread I was leaning towards Mae. I think Violet Mae sounds lovely, and with the family connection it has meaning.

I like Violet Mae better!! The family connection set aside I like the flow better. I also like that all three names would not have the same amount of syllables like it would if you went with Marie.

I love Mae. Violet Mae is lovely. Marie is a wonderful name, but with no family connection it comes across as a filler. I also like Violet Mabel, Violet Pearl, Violet Josephine and Violet Renee.
