I just got back from my doctor for my 16W appointment. She went over my blood work and it turns out I am high risk for PAPP-A. Anybody else gone through this.
I don't think my baby has Downs, they said my levels for that was low! PAPP-A is pregnancy associated plasma protein A, so it's something they test for. Everything else was fine. Low PAPP-A levels in your body can cause your baby to have low birth weight.
I was told that I have low PAPP-A too. The gentic counselor just said they would probably bring me in for another growth scan about 27-30 weeks to check and see how baby is growing. They are also going to keep a closer eye on my BP as low PAPP-A can sometimes predict pre-eclampsia.
