It's been awhile...(update)

Update: met with hematologist who said there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about. The type of WBC that is elevated is completely reactive and she doesn't care if it's elevated the rest of my life. She is rerunning labs since she has seen outside labs read high on results and checking a couple other things just in case. She said I don't even need to go back for results - they will just email me them and let me know if there are any concerns. After all of this my conclusion is that my PCP is an idiot and ass and I need to find a new one.

Original Post: I know I haven't been around and I'm sorry for that. I hope you all are doing well. I have lurked periodically but life's been a little, well, I don't really know what to say it's been....

I know this is a community of give and you will receive support. Part of me feels like I shouldn't be posting this but I need to express what I'm feeling and don't want to tell people yet IRL. DH knows of course, but he is a worrier by nature and him worrying just stresses me out so I'm trying to act cool about it all in front of him.

I've been sick a lot, especially in the last month and a half. I will spare you all the details but one month ago they discovered my white blood cells were elevated. After going to the ER, my family doc, a surgeon (they thought it might be my gallbladder) my white cell count is still elevated. I'm now being referred to a hematologist to be evaluated. Honestly, I feel fine other than tired and not having the best appetite but I can eat and do. DH went to dr google (oh joy) and is freaking out that I might have leukemia. I know that is a possibility but am trying to put on the brave face for him. I know it could also be nothing but I won't lie that a part of me is worried about what might be going on. I'd really just appreciate prayers, positive vibes, whatever you can send my way since I don't want to tell anyone else right now.

I'll let you all know what comes of this. Unfortunately right now it is a waiting game. I have to wait for the hematologists office to call me to make an appt. ugh. Waiting is the worst!
