I just read that Bran Stark and Hodor will not be featured in the upcoming season.

HODOR!!!???
(Translation: WHAT THE FUCK!!!???)

    You're right. But they left their storyline at such a jarring point and there is sooo much time between seasons.

    On a lighter note the actor who plays Hodor will be perusing his career as a DJ and is taking the time off to go on a "Rave of Thrones" tour.

    I feel like I read somewhere (maybe in the comments section of an article?) that there were some Bran scenes filmed for season 4 that weren't used, and possibly are being pushed to season 5. So maybe they're just not filming this season. With how they ended season 4, it seems weird that they would just leave Bran and co. out completely. I'd support a super scaled back Bran, since he's caught up with the books.

    @Haps92907 not sure if we have an official date yet. Last season started in April, so probably around the same time.

    On another note, George R.R. Martin has stated that there is a fan theory circulating that accurately predicts the ending of the entire series. After much internet scouring, I have a good guess as to which one it is. But he, of course, is not giving out details as to which theory is right.

    I think Bran is at a pretty good stopping point for now, considering he is pretty much all caught up. Like PPs have said, there is SO MUCH that still has to happen in the south. It seems like they are following Tyrion and Arya pretty closely and they also both have a whole lot of story yet to tell.
    Are we openly discussing book events that have yet to occur on the show? I don't want to be that jerk that accidentally ruins everything (again) for someone.
    Also I know I've posted this before, but I'm still pooping my pants level excited that Alexander Siddig (Dr. Julian Bashir from Star Trek DS9) is going to be Doran Martell.

    Yes, he's good about foreshadowing. I had to familiarize myself with the theories, but from there it was easy to see which direction he was going in. Especially based on the series title. Of course, it will be 20 years before we get any satisfaction, lol.

    ANYONE but Coleman would make me happy. My DH adores her, but I hate her as a companion. He thinks it's because I am still sad about losing the Ponds. But it's just that I don't like her. At all. Especially with Capaldi. Rawr.

    @Whitfry, the theory circulating that we all are pretty sure is the one he's referencing is well-documented in the books if you look between the lines. Just as his foreshadowing of the death of the dire wolf with the antler in the throat in the beginning of the first book is. I read that on my second read through and was like OMG!!!!!! How did I not make that connection last time!?!?!?


    I think, based on the OP, that this may be a non-book reading group so I'd say keep it spoiler free. 
    I only read books 1 an 2 so far (slow reader). So I doubt I will be able to catch up or surpass before season 5 starts.

    I also read the fan theory I think you are referring to and it totally makes sense. I can't believe GRRM confirmed it is true!
