Re: Back pain

  • A chiropractor would help.

  • I just started using a pregnancy support belt and it is helping! It doesn't make the pain 100% go away, but it's definitely a big difference.
  • Talk to your OB, chiropractor, and do stretches.

  • I had horrible back pain at work about two weeks ago I went to my OB the next day it turns out I had a kidney infection, ouch
  • I asked my OB about my lower back pain and she said if it keeps up I will need to go to physical therapy, I thought this was a completely normal pregnancy complaint? Luckily it's gone away for the most part so I haven't complained about it since!

I complained to my OB (before I switched to a midwife) about very severe hip pain and she said my only options were physical therapy and injections, or Tylenol.... I was not happy.
  • I am 36 weeks and I just started experiencing back pain the past 3-4 days. When I went to doctor yesterday I was dilated 2 and 50% effaced. With DS1 that is where all my labor was in my back. I can remember I had severe back pain about 1 week prior to delivering. Don't know if this has anything to do with my labor this time or not. But I have had more intense BH here lately too.
  • I get really bad back pain at work when I'm sitting at my desk. Been going to a chiro for 2 weeks now and it seems to have helped! Also getting up and walking around every hour. I've heard trading in a desk chair for a yoga ball helps, too, but I've been too lazy to go buy one!

  • Yoga. It pretty much fixes everything.
  • My back pain comes and goes. DH is kind enough to offer massages frequently which helps. Hot showers help. I've also been sleeping with an ice pack wedged between my back and my pillow some nights, this helps numb the pain and keeps me from overheating at night. I don't know if it's the best advice but find that I sleep better on nights when I use ice.
