  • My son will be three in three months. Naps are hit and miss. I would say he naps about 60 percent of the time. Still very much needs one, but logistically it doesn't always happen

  • Our DS turned 3 in May. He still naps very well at this stage. I work full-time outside of the home, so he's in daycare and he naps there every day. He maintains his nap schedule at home with us, too. There are days when he misses his nap, if we're out running errands or whatever, but he definitely still needs his nap.

  • On a good day, yes. She really does need it most days. But she usually fights it pretty hard so it doesn't always happen.

  • Said no but he does occasionally. My 4 year old girl does too occasionally. Either way they usually have a rest after lunch where I set them up on the couches and let them watch a show. Sometimes they snooze other times they don't. I usually push for a nap if they had a rough night or it is going to be a late night.
  • My son will be three in October and he still naps 1.5-3 hours most afternoons.
  • I voted yes, even though my son just turned 4 last month. He napped daily for most of the time that he was three, and he still naps maybe once or twice a week now. Every day (during DS2's nap), DS1 has quiet time, during which he looks at books, does puzzles, and other quiet activities. Like I said, he falls asleep during that time a few times a week. His quiet time is on my bed because the boys share a room, and I know neither of them will nap if they're together.
  • My DD will be 4 in Novemeber and still naps 2 hrs/day  She wakes up @6, naps from 12-2, and goes to bed around 830, but only during the week, on weekends she naps when she wakes, naps, and sleeps when she wants to.  Her Day Care class naps everyday and she will be in that class until next August.

My 3 yr old still takes naps. Sometimes I have to force him to nap because he fights his sleep but if he doesn't nap then he will be very grumpy later on. I usually take that time to have a little me time (nap, read) or take care of household duties.
  • My three year old used to be great at taking naps at school, and on the weekends (if we weren't out running around) but I find that she's slowly growing out of them.  I'd say we're at the 50% of the time mark at this point.  Any ride in the car usually still knocks her out though.  I don't think we will have much nap time left to look forward to lol

  • Ugh I am so jealous of you ladies. Molly gave up naps at 2 1/2. She just started staying up way too late. With that being said she sleeps 7:15-730 pm till 8 am every day.
If we have a crazy day and she gets put in a car around 3 or 4 she will guarantee fall asleep but then I pay for it with a 10 pm bedtime. No thanks.
  • My oldest napped until she went off to Kinder. My son quite when she did, but still has to lay down for at least an hour after lunch.
  • DS naps whenever he feels like he wants/needs to, but not super late so he'll STTN. He'll be 4 in January.
  • My 2 oldest stopped taking regular naps around 2.5-3yrs old.  My middle boy who just turned 4 will only take a nap if he falls asleep in the car, and has been this way for over 1yr now.  My rule of thumb, if they are regularly taking a nap for less than an hour, they may be ready to start skipping it.  Once my boys hit the 45min mark on a regular basis, we went ahead and skipped it unless they were really tired for some reason.

  • DS dropped naps at the same time he started sleeping through the night. This was when he turned 2. He has some "down time" in the afternoon that seems to recharge his batteries enough.

  • My DD will nap for a couple hours still around 3-5, but usually only during the week. Weekends are my main time with her while I give DH a break, and we'll usually sleep in, watch tv, go do something fun outside (weather permitting), or bake cookies or cupcakes, and then watch a movie during her regular nap time. Then evening time is family time. She'll be 3 end of Sept.

(Granted, this is an ideal weekend where we have nothing going on and I don't feel like pregnancy crap... which tend to be pretty rare these days... :()

  • DS will be 3 in December and he still takes a nap.

  • DS was only napping in the afternoon intermittently by his third birthday (although i still put him in his room for quiet time.  i'd say he stopped entirely by summer after his birthday.

  • My son is turning 3 on the 16th... so close enough

There are days when he doesnt get a nap because we're doing stuff, but more often than not yes... And I'm still lucky in that it's usually around 2 hours long on average when he does nap.

'Course I only know about the weekends, I'm not sure if he gets less when he's at daycare... maybe at least shorter naps.  I know he at the very least lays down and rests there.

  • All these posts about their toddlers turning 3 this month made me nostalgic for that old S'11 BMB. Not that I did anything but lurk there most of the time, but ya know.

I was on S'11 too! I lurked more often than posted because I was still a shy TB poster in those days (if you can imagine), but I'm still on their FB group to this day.

I also had a different SN back then.

    Aw Memries.
