My little one seems to hate carriers. She tolerates the baby Bjorne but I read that one is not great for baby's hips. I have a sling and a Mei tei. I think she's still too little for the Mei tei and she hates the sling.

Anyone have any success with any other types of carriers? I prefer legs out as she has long legs and doesn't seem to like them tucked in. Thanks ladies!!!

I found mine hated the carriers when I didn't put him in correctly. Wrap you in Love has great tutorials over a ton of wraps. I found a good wrap one and was able to get my little man comfortable and loving our Wrapsody Bali Breeze. Still can't manage the Maya wrap yet...thinking of trading it for something else.

14 weeks. I was looking into either a ergo or a Tula for when she's older though. Any suggestions?

We started in the Mei-tai at 6 days. I think at 14 weeks she's definitely old enough.

The problem is she kicks and the Mei tai video showed legs in and support on a rolled up blanket? She hates if but she seems so uncomfortable with her legs out.

Bjorn is bad because it positions the hips in an unnatural manner. Her legs are actually supposed to be tucked up/ in because that's the most supportive position. Think about it- she was just scrunched up in your womb for many months. She LOVES being scrunched! It's what's natural for babies. It may seem uncomfortable to an adult, but babies' physiology isn't the same as an adult's.

DD didn't really like carriers much, and mostly liked forward facing until she could be on my back. We used them when we had to, but carried a lot more when she was old enough for back carries.

I don't know about a blanket - you don't need one with a mei-tai, just roll the top down to give neck support. And if you want legs out, then you can fold the bottom inward and tie with a ribbon so that the part that goes between her legs is much smaller.

DS went through a phase at about the same age where he didn't want to be worn either. Once he got a little bigger and better head control he started enjoying it more, and now we use the sling and Mei Tai without any trouble. We just used the stroller a lot in between, even in the house sometimes. I would definitely try rolling the top of the Mei Tai down, and we also roll the waist band up once too so DS's arms have a little freedom

We use a Beco Gemini. I carry DS all the time - he loves it and I love it; it's very comfortable for both of us. I think the Tula is a great option as well.
