i'm just wondering who else is dealing with this already and what can be done besides just putting your feet up as much as possible. with DS, my feet didn't start swelling even a little until 33+ weeks, with the worst of it during the week AFTER he was born. my toes have been feeling a little weird in the evening but not appearing different, until today (i'm 21w on the nose) when they're definitely actually swollen. not bad, but definitely puffy. any suggestions? maybe up my water intake?

My feet aren't swollen, but I have a pretty bad varicose vein on my left leg that's already looking worse than it did at the end of my first pregnancy. Let's just say compression socks are wonderful! They're supposed to help with swelling too.
Mine started swelling last week. There's really not a whole lot that can be done from what I understand. And as long as the swelling decreases overnight and there's no pitting it's mostly nothing to be concerned about. But it suuuuuuuuuucks.

thanks ladies! this is what i thought...i guess i was looking for confirmation and actual experience, lol. i don't have high BP (it was only 106/61 on friday), so it must be the salt/water thing, and i've been sitting a lot lately because of SI joint pain that seems to get aggravated by any amount of time on my feet. i have PT scheduled for it, but they couldn't get me for three more weeks yet, so i'll just have to try to get up more but be really careful about it.

I'm surprisingly not there yet, but my feet swelled so much with my past 2 pregnancies that I could feel fluid sloshing in the top of my feet when I walked! I lived in compression socks/tights that went from the tops of my toes to my knees.
i've already told SO that i need to get some kind of higher quality shearling boots for fall and winter because having to tie shoes in late pregnancy is just...no. looks like i'll need it for the foot-swelling thing too.

There is a video that shows how uggs are made and the torture of the sheep and it is gruesome and disgusting so sad. I LOVE my uggs but can't bring myself to buy a new pair after seeing that. I am going to try to find a humane alternative
Can I just wear Uggs with EVERYTHING this winter? Dress with leggings...and Uggs. Dress pants...and Uggs. That should work, right? Cause that sounds damn comfortable!
That's what everyone does in Massachusetts
I'm going to purchase a new pair of Bearpaws for that purpose because they are half the price of Uggs and I don't care if they get all stretched out and ruined this winter.
@stargirlb- I wont buy uggs for this reason. I go faux. The pair I have from last year is from payless - they are comfortable and warm but not great quality - when they need to be replaced I'd like a better quality for sure. Let me know if you find anything!
I'm in the same boat. I have had swelling in my previous pregnancies, but not this early (23w). I have found it's a great excuse for a pedicure (I just had one today, in fact). The massaging of the calves and ankles can help with circulation, thus helping reduce the swelling.

Are your Payless ones quality enough to last one winter? That's all I'm looking for, and I'm so not ashamed to buy cheap!
One of my coworkers always points out that my *fake* Toms didn't help any kids in Africa, and I always point out right back that instead of paying $50 for *real* ones and having them send ONE pair to Africa, I bought mine for $5 and donated $45 elsewhere. FOR THE WIN.
Yes- I got mine last winter b/c I wanted something that I could slip on quickly to walk the dog, and I wore them on weekends also. Not every day, but they are still in good shape and I believe they have a while left in them. They are the airwalk brand.
