Cloth Diapering

Sunning wool? Bamboo?

Our oldest recently toilet trained and I'm trying to put away or destash the items that are too big for the babies.

We have 2 wool covers. One has some pretty bad urine stains. The other has unidentified (food/dirt??) stains on the outside. Will these sun out?

Also, there are 2 sbish ON diapers with poop stains. I've been sunning but it doesn't seem to work like it does with the cotton. Keep trying? Or lost cause?

  • I'm not positive…but I don't think you're supposed to sun wool.  the heat can damage the fibers

  • I have a vague sense I may have read that before. Anyone tried it? (The urine stain is pretty yucky).
  • For the other diaper, try adding lemon juice before sunning. You'll have to rewash it after, but it can help the effectiveness of the sun.

  • Thanks! I'll try the lemon juice.

Both covers are off white- I'm not worried about fading- I think I'll chance it but would love to know if anyone has any experience with this.
