I recently started back to work and have started pumping again. I pumped for 8 months at work with my older daughter (until she was 13mo) and plan to do the same with my younger daughter. I have noticed that the majority of my milk is expressed within the first 5 minutes of pumping though. I would love to only pump for 5 minutes, but I seem to recall this will effect my supply long term right? Do you pump for a set amount of time or just until things seem to run dry?
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

Re: How long to pump?
I pump an average of 20 minutes/session. I typically will get another letdown later in the session and get quite a bit more milk, so I will usually stop after the second letdown unless my breasts still feel full.
