Anyone else's SO a little too excited about being able to be a kid again?

Last night's dinner convo went something like this (sorry for the lack of paragraphs in advance - stupid mobile crap).......FI: Let's take Delaney up to Milwaukee this weekend. We could take her to the zoo! Me: You want to take a 3 week old to the zoo??? She can barely focus her eyes. She's not going to have a clue what's going on. FI (still not getting it): Ok, well, there's a children's museum up there too. Having a kid gives you a free pass to go into places like that again! Me: Why don't we just take her to Chuck E Cheese and throw her in the ball pit....see what happens. SMH

  • My DH is just like this. DS1 is 2yo and he was playing with him yesterday and said "I want more Legos" um, YOU want more Legos? DS doesn't even know how to put them together yet!

  • Um, I'm kind of like this. :)
Me too. I order kids meals "for my kid" all the time. I use them as an excuse to do things I'm actually too old for. DS got a Yo Gabba Gabba boombox with all the dolls for his birthday and I was way more excited about it than he was.

Ok, I admittedly ordered Happy Meals before I was even pregnant. I also determined whether it was for a boy or girl depending on the toy.
  • My husband is going to have a hard time waiting for him to be old enough to play games.  Also, at a garage sale in May he bought up a bunch of Geotrax train set toys for a great deal.  Going to be a while yet until DS can play with those! I think it's more for the husband sometimes :)

  • DH and I absolutely enjoy having kids as an excuse to play with toys and go fun places again. We're members at one of our local zoos; last year we belonged to the local children's museum. And DD has the IKEA train set bc we wanted to play with it. She enjoys it too, but really we choose toys that we enjoy along with her. We enjoy giving her attention and playing with her more if we like the toys too, so there's that at least :). No shame here!

  • He is already a big kid.
