October 2013 Moms

Maybe it will work for someone else too

After @deedee1017‌ mentioned the Dr Seuss birthday book, I bought it on Amazon for 45 cents! It says the normal price when browsing, but when I go to check out, there is a "settlement and credit" that drops the price. I checked it on a few children's books, most with varying discounts. I bought the Poky Little Puppy for 17 cents!

Is it a glitch on my end? My friend bought the same book after I told her and it told her $4 (still a good deal). I think the Very Hungry Caterpillar board book is coming up only a couple dollars.

Just thought I'd share in case it works for anyone else. :)

  • Thanks! I wonder if there was some sort of class action suite and maybe everyone was awarded some kind of a credit based on their purchase history.  I am going to try it.

  • Depending on how much your shop on amazon, or what you have purchased in the past.  I know that for certain things purchased there was an on going lawsuit or something and once they settled it members of Amazon got compensation in their amazon account.  My mom got a decent amount of money back and was able to purchase several kindle books using the settlement money.

If that is the case for you, you might have gotten an email that was overlooked telling you you were getting money in your amazon account from the settlement.

this-- there was a class action lawsuit that was settled maybe about a year ago? if you bought ebooks from them in the past, you got a credit. i only know for sure it was with amazon and b&n (where i got my credit). maybe other companies did, too.

  • I have bought a crapload of e-books and never got any type of credit :(

from where? i just checked my email, and the credits came in march this year. amazon and b&n. maybe purchased with a different account? i was only notified through my email. and it was for ebooks bought between 2010 and 2012.

  • I got an email, but I've bought tons of stuff on amazon and kindle and it never gave me money off.

I tried to put a bunch of books in m cart, but the discount is smaller that way. It's going me a bigger discount to click the "buy now" rather than adding to cart and checking out. It's weird.

@jnsmith85‌ it's the birthday book. I thought maybe people at her party could sign it, and it'd be a keepsake.
