Pregnant after IF

Anyone Else Pumped for Football?

Any other ladies who love football or get hyped for your fantasy teams?  Especially now that I can no longer partake in Sunday funday, I think my Sundays will be spent joining DH on the couch to watch football.  I'm cheering for the Texans, although I'm not holding my breath for the Superbowl.

Re: Anyone Else Pumped for Football?

  • OH has decided that it's really time to boycott, and I guess I'm with him. The DV suspension for Ray Rice put us both over the edge. There are just so many horrid problems with the NFL that the fun no longer outweighs the ugly.

  • I have my Patriots maternity shirt all ready to go!

DH and I are in a bit of a fight over playoffs and Super Bowl. Our little boy will show up likely sometime in January, so almost definitely before the Super Bowl and likely before several of the playoff games. And there's a decent chance the Patriots will make it that far, but even still I'd want to watch. DH doesn't think I should be taking Ryan to a bar, even a restaurant style bar, shortly after birth. He's probably right, but we don't have cable and I can't imagine not watching the games. I think we have compromised in that we're getting cable ;-)

And OMG yes! Cheesy, Buffalo, and avocado. Eat all the food!

  • Yep, pretty excited!! Pretty big Patriots fan here. Usually I go to at least one game or playoff game a year, but we will see this year since tailgating in negative degree weather won't be as fun.

I also do fantasy football with my DH, Brother, and all other guys. Usually my DH and I do a team together but this is the first year we are splitting up so it should be interesting :) I have soo many players going on Monday night that I'm getting antsy.

Did you know that the NFL has recently changed their punishments for infractions?

The Colts's owner was just suspended for 6 games and fined $500,000 for DUI.

I'm really excited for football.  This is the first time in a while that I'm not playing fantasy football or doing a pick 'em league.  I didn't want to commit knowing that I'm pregnant and there will be times where I really can't research the players/injuries and games.
Married on October 20, 2012.  Began trying in January 2013.
RE appointment & testing December 2013 - February 2014= Unexplained IF, possible endometriosis
IUI#1- March 22 (100mg clomid, 75 mg of Bravelle, Ovidrel trigger) = BFP!!!

I'm not a beer drinker at all except for pumpkin beer so I'm not picky, I think that last year we got Blue Moon pumpkin ale and it was delicious to me!

  • @ southernyankeegirl .... was his plan to go to the bar and watch and leave you home with the baby? Cuz that's a HUGE hell naw. I definitely agree with getting cable. Or he can stay home with the baby and you go to the bar :P

You could luck out and have a baby that loves to sleep...we went to a bar with some friends that had a 3 week old. Very content in her carseat :)

  • @xc1148‌ - no no, he is a college football fan, not a pro fan. I'm the one who wants to go watch the games! If Ryan is able for me to leave him home with DH, then that's fine. I just worry since I will be EBF that it would be hard to be away from him for the length of the whole game. The nearest bar is about 20 minutes away, plus a 2 to 3 hour game, and 20 minutes back. Seems too long to be away from a newborn.

I did tell him that I can go to the bar, he can bring Ryan at half time and I'll breast-feed in the car, and then he can bring Ryan home again ;-) That may happen, but I think he decided to get me cable instead! Not complaining :-) especially since I don't have anyone to watch at the bar with me except DH. Although if my mom is in town still, she and I could definitely go and watch the football game and leave DH home with baby ;-)

I am super excited for football, and happy that the Thursday night games will be broadcast on network television this year.  (Not that I can ever stay awake long enough to see the end of Monday or Thursday games - seriously, that programming is anti-Eastern time zone.  It's the worst thing about this side of the country).

NFL wise I am a Giants fan.  They've had a couple of rough seasons - pretty much since the new stadium opened - but tonight is opening night, and the season is full of possibilities!

College wise, I'm a Rutgers fan.  (Since the 90's.... those were some ugly years).  We have season tickets to the home games, which will hopefully be exciting, and not so much horrible reminders of the 90's, now that RU's in the Big10.  Super excited for the sold out Penn State game.  My sister's a PSU alum, and RU hasn't played them since I was a freshman.

As a Rutgers fan, I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in Ray Rice.  As arguably the best player to ever come out of the RU football program, he really let me down.  I can't even.
