Cute sex reveal ideas?

If his has been posted recently just direct me to the original and ignore me :)

I am talking about "revealing" to my other kids- not the general populous at some kind of party.

My boys are very excited, it turns out it's the sex they "want", and since they're young (4.5 and 2.5), I want to involve them and let them be the first to find out in a way that will be exciting to them.

I am not ready to tell them just yet-more toward the end of the month, but all I've got for ideas is a box of balloons in the appropriate color (with a weight- not to be released into the air), or icing filled cupcakes.

Any other ideas?

TIA!

  • Will they understand what the colors represent at that age? I'd probably just tell them and maybe film the reaction.

Yep they def would- my 4.5 year old reads and will be 5 next month ;)
  • I did a reveal for my brother and SIL, and geared it toward my nephew finding out about his baby brother. I did a "what's it gonna bee" theme, and got a bumble bee piñata from Amazon and filled it with blue candy. Party City has candy sorted by color. He loved it!

  • If you go on Pinterest there are some really cute ideas about revealing the sex of your baby to whomever.

My father in law is really into genealogy so I was thinking (if its a boy) of making a family tree picture and putting the baby boy name we decided on in the last box. If its a girl I have to come up with some other ideas.

  • I did a scavenger hunt for my kids.  I gave them like 6 clues to follow, and at the end, they opened a bin with the pink balloons.
  • @stine28 - just because we have decided to name a boy afterr my H's grandfather who passed away in May. His dad has been really torn up about it (the loss of his father) so this would be a way of revealing that the legacy will live on through our child, etc.

It was just 1 idea I had ... I thought for a girl we could do something different.

The tree thing would ONLY be for a reveal to my H's dad. So really we need 2 ideas regardless of the sex.

  • For kids I would probably just make a white cake and dye the batter the right color. What's more exciting than cupcakes and sex!

Errrrr...lol. Seriously though, that's what I would do.

This made me lol. It's easy so I may end up doing that.
  • We are going to take them to the ultrasound and let them find out with us!
  • I really like the idea of incorporating food.  Kids like food.  And even if they are upset that it's the "wrong" color, they'll get over it because yummy cupcakes.
