I tried dry shampoo once and it was THE WORST. It was like spraying sticky talcum powder on my head, and it made my roots look like silver hay. No thanks.
I don't use conditioner regularly anymore. I only use it if I am planning on wearing my hair down and straight, which takes hours of blow drying and straightening so that is like never.
My hair looks and does better when I don't brush it and put it up when wet. The extra texture I get from no conditioner helps.
I can't believe I was the only vote for dry shampoo! My hair is super thick and pretty wavy/curly naturally, so it's kind of a pain to wash it (because I never have time to blow it out) so I only do it a few times a week, dry shampoo all the rest of the time! I seriously can't live without dry shampoo. I have used the one ramy listed above, and I also recently tried this one from Garnier--smells awesome and works great! https://www.garnierusa.com/products/haircare/volume-extend/Treatment/Volume-Extend-Instant-Bodified-Dry-Shampoo.aspx
I went through a phase in maybe middle school where I stopped using shampoo because I didn't think it was necessary since the conditioner was what made my hair made my hair feel nice. Needless to say my hair did not look that great.

For me, it's conditioner all the way. My hair goes almost all the way down to my butt and it is dry, dry, dry. I use about 3x as much conditioner and shampoo. Otherwise it's a dry, brittle knot.

Do not let this modest description fool you. Vals has beautiful hair.
