So I was MIA for a while, not that I post enough for everyone to know me, but still. I went back to work part time as a CPA when DS was 14 months. Truth be told, even part time, I don't love it. DH and I have had several discussions about whether being adult just means working and making money even though the job is lame or if we are just "settling." And what kind of example that will set for our son and any future kids. I thought it might be nice to try making money doing something I do love, so I started a small furniture refurbishing business. Some of you might remember the china hutch I redid a couple months back.
Anyway, I don't expect any of you to buy, but I wanted to share some photos for fun!
I'm especially proud of the piece I finished today, pictured last. It is a combination kitchen/work bench that I made from an old aquarium stand. The top is a reversible stove top on one side and a work area with a ruler and some velcro'ed on wood on the other side. I love that it's gender neutral because I totally want my son to be able to cook one day! And obviously I support girls using tools! ![]()
