My son is 10 weeks old and just had his tongue and lip tie diagnosed and corrected. I nursed right afterwards and couldn't believe the significance in breastfeeding afterwards! As a FTM I have been muscling through the pain and just thought that's what breastfeeding felt like.
I'm frustrated that it wasn't found and corrected earlier but cried tears of relief afterward! I also have read since that there can be speech problems later on down the road so I'm relieved it was corrected now. If anyone else is dealing with this, I highly recommend having it corrected for a better latch and breastfeeding experience.
Re: Tears of relief - tongue tie corrected !
My LO is having problems with gas/reflux/colic, and I'm noticing some issues with his latch. He can't seem to keep that upper lip flanged out and has been chomping on my nipples versus sucking like he should, so I'll be talking to the pedi about possible tongue and/or lip tie tomorrow.
