Early signs of labor?!

Yesterday in the beginning of the day I noticed my stomach constantly getting hard and tight but I didn't think anything of it because there was no pain, so I chalked it up to BH. But by the end of the night it would get really hard and right more frequently, about every 6 minutes. It was also get more tight to the point where it was hard to breathe. I tried changing positions and drinking water and nothing made them go away. I woke up this morning still with my stomach getting hard and really tight and some crampy like pains happening every five minutes. I went to see my dr because I had my 37 week exam today. I asked if it was BH and he said no it's my body getting ready for labor. He didn't see if I was dialated or anything because I have another appt on Monday for an ultrasound and to do an internal. He told me to keep track of my contractions and that he was on calls at the hospital tonight. He also said he will see me Monday at the latest so I'm assuming he thinks she's going to come this week? She dropped last week and she's already in place. I just don't wanna be getting my hopes up for it to not be real. I'm contracting every five minutes now with the hard very tight belly and the pain is more pressure/crampy like and has moved to my back too. Thoughts???

Re: Early signs of labor?!

  • Could be the beginning of labor, but this went on for 2 weeks when I was pregnant with DS. You never know. I would just plan to relax and enjoy your weekend. If they start to be very painful and consistent, then it's probably labor.

  • Yea... Don't get your hopes up. My OB told me she expected me to have the baby "within the week," every week, starting at 38w. She was wrong more often than not ;). And it will only make you more miserable to think his comment means anything

  • Wow. I thought this was a place for moms to show other moms support. All I was looking for was advice. Didn't realize there was a separate board for stuff like this. SORRY. I have completely rude/immature responses and then the Harry potter forum nazi. Thank you to the few who actually responded like a normal human being. The rest of you just give a bad name to this community. Frankly, I'm shocked because I thought we all were adults. Guess pregnancy just brings out the hormonal worst in some of you.
  • OP, you could have used the search. You also could have scrolled down the page or maybe it's on the second page now but there is a thread that is specifically for SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS. There are so many ppl who come to this community who ask questions, usually dumb questions and never return to read the responses. Some just come to stir shit up. Ok so you didn't get the responses you were looking for but we don't know you, your situation, or anything. My advice to you, instead of getting all Butthurt maybe you should lurk a little and give a little support. There are ladies that have just recently joined our community, it's not to late. But once you go spouting of bs about you thought this was a support center and calling this board rude and immature from the responses you have gotten it usually doesn't go well, and it's probably not going to now. But I'm not trying to help you or anything bc I'm hormonal and at my worst, even tho we have the same EDD (sep 14)? And having a CS on Monday isn't helping my anxiety or being hormonal.
