Fireplace baby proofing help!

So we have this fireplace and Grayson loves to climb up and sit on it as you can tell. image

It curves out. I've already tried the bumpers that stick on baby Grayson just ripped them off.

Do any of you have any idea on how to baby proof this? It's huge and in the middle of the living room so we can't easily gate it off. image

  • I have friends that have a huge fireplace (that size or bigger) and they gated it off using one of those huge gated play pens attached to the wall (instead of in a circle). Other than that I have no other ideas.

  • We are about to order this: .https://www.babysafetyfoam.com/gallery.html
A few of my friends have it and it looks nice! Much better than the gate I have around it now.
  • We went through the same issue at our house several months ago. We were planning to build a cover, add padding and upholster with a waterproof table cloth. Instead, I remembered that we had an old comforter in the closet. I folded it over and placed it on top of the hearth. I left the fire place padded foam underneath for added protection. LO has never pulled it off!!! **knocks on wood** I'm not positive if this would work on your curved hearth.
  • Sorry, the bump didn't upload my pic before I clicked post

I wish I could just put a blanket on there but Grayson would pull it off. That would be the first thing he did lol

  • We don't have a fireplace, but brick and a wood burning stove.
