ULT/PTT Post-Op

Hey all.

DD is a month old and had her upper lip tie and posterior tongue tie clipped a few hours ago. It's beginning to hurt her a lot, since her upper lip now flanges automatically while nursing. She is pretty obviously hungry and is getting hysterical and frustrated.

DH went to grab some baby Tylenol.

Any tricks to make her more comfortable until it stops hurting or help her eat? How long does the discomfort typically last? TIA!

I'm sorry, I have no advice but didn't want you to feel ignored. Hopefully the Tylenol helps and things are less tender very soon.

Edit to add, maybe check in with the pediatrician and ask how long you can expect discomfort and what you can be doing for it.

  • That's okay, thank you though!

Ped had just recommended the baby Tylenol. It worked pretty well.

Thankfully we didn't even need to give her a second dose; she already seems to be in zero pain. Babies heal quick I guess!

Lesson learned, wait a few hours, and she'll be fine.
