Cloth Diapering

I know I'm starting early but...

We lost EVERYTHING we had left in our old house (a sinkhole made a wall collapse, so everything that was stored down there ended up flooded and moldy after one big rain- so it had to be tossed out. That was mostly gear though, as we had sold/given away the majority of our stash) But this means that we're going to have to budget for ALL of it, so I'm trying to start a little early with budgeting and if I find a great deal to jump on it... but in this case... I found a cute (unisex!) print that I couldn't pass on once I took a look at design... I received it yesterday, and I think I've found my new inexpensive brand of choice because I am just that effing impressed (using it, of course, will be the real determining factor, of course)

Given my past experience with CDing, I Think this will be one of the best (maybe slightly too early...) investments we will make for this baby <3

  • I totally just purchased this diaper for the print, I'm weak sauce today. Let the addiction begin.

  • wow... thanks for getting right on the thinking I'm advertising myself type of train... No. I do not make nor sell diapers. The craftiest I ever get is I sometimes paint my toenails... As for the sizing, I wasn't really considering these for a newborn, mostly for cord issues, but for when the cord is off and the new baby gets big enough, in my opinion these are pretty great.

I posted a picture because I effing love the print, and the link because I'm nice enough to share when I think I've found something others might like as well. But Big thanks for thinking otherwise even though I've posted in here before.

As for the name... I think almost all diaper names are awful. I think maybe they were making a play on fairy tales?  Idgaf. I like the diaper.

Sheesh... what is your problem, seriously? I posted something because after getting it I really like the way it is made, and had purchased it because it's low cost and cute... I shared because I like to try to be nice and help others out who may be looking for something like it. If you think I'm wasting money, why not say why you think that instead of getting rude?

  • I'm not worried about the absorbency of this diaper, I just want it for a photos. We did a patriotic photo shoot for DS1 and want to do it for this baby as well. DH is military and I couldn't pass up this print.

  • Ok, I'll be clearer.

People (not very honest people, but lots of them, apparently) purchase very cheap (cheaper than this) diapers from china, often a brand called Alva.  They remove any labeling, add a label, make up a cute or not-so-cute name, make a free website, and re-sell them for 3-5 bucks more, making a nice profit from unsuspecting people who could have bough the exact diaper for like $4.99 from a crappy website that is actually more legit.

Sometimes these people then post on boards like this exclaiming about this great new cheap and ripped-off diaper they found.

You may not be the one doing the ripping off....but it sure appears that happy endings is.

Oh, wow... that's kindof a dirty thing to do... I don't know if these are like that or not, I've never seen that kind of design with that print before though, so I don't think it's that type of situation, or hope not at least. Thank you very very much for clearing that up though!!

This is whats going on here, but its not QUITE this sketchy, JUst in the sense that Alva is not getting ripped off, just the buyers. Alva is happy to make diapers for resellers, and to label them however their buyer wants. The resellers jack up prices, but they aren't actually removing Alva labels. Alva is a manufacturer, and this is how they make money.

@RobynB13 sorry, but the way you posted this really looks like spam we get here pretty regularly.
Just make sure that you do your research.
If you really like this diaper, check out alvababy.com, or superstash.net  Same diapers, better prices, no scams.

    You forgot the third step.

They reseller puts them on Zulilly for 50% retail.  The low low price of 9.99 instead of the regular $20.  But in reality they are a $5-6 diaper.

  • I'll remain weary, but I think they may legit. (If I can get my craptacular back-up phone of mine to work I'll post some pictures) inside out there is a hemp insert sewn into the fleece liner-they put the wrong type in the listing, but I prefer the hemp/cotton to the bamboo as far as sewn-in goes (the fleece is thick, but I don't know how much will fluff-off in the first wash).
I did a little googling, and I think they either took on the name of an older brand that discontinued (Happy Endings as the original, and Happy Endings Eco Diapers being this). I thought maybe the other company wanted a new start or something, but they were located in WI and this one is on OR, and the other company (when they existed) had major markup, selling $25 diapers. These seem pretty inexpensive, but not cheap. I did find them on Amazon marked up to around the same price as some of the "Big Brand" CD companies...

I'm going to be paranoid of diapers now LOL

  • I feel like it's irresponsible, or at least weird, to go off promoting an awesome score you found, but haven't actually used. I got a few ADORABLE diapers off zulily (I know, I know) that just plain suck. What if those suck and you talked people into buying them based off your rave review?

So far I'm just basing it off of, construction and materials, and I can honestly say it's got good things going for it, but until I get to use it, I can't say for sure. I'm hoping I'm as happy with it as I am now after we finally get to use it though... :)

PS- my dyslexic-ass typed thongs instead of things... and for once I actually caught it
