  • We usually try to because I have only head it is not friendly. Not sure how much "harm" it would be.

  • I didn't know it was sperm unfriendly so never did before, but you can bet your ass it's off the table now during the time I think I'm fertile. He can wait another week (or 2, knowing my cycle).

Most of the time we do the foreplay, because that's the best part to me. With sex ED in the FW though sometimes we don't. I'm too tired from all the humping and just want a quickie so I can go to sleep.

I'd say as long as there is no MFI involved and you're not creating waterfalls of drool when you're down there nommin' on peen, go for it.

  • We don't do oral every time we get it on, so I picked "sometimes," but the real answer is you can pry it from my cold dead fingers. It's how I get off 75% of the time and I enjoy it way too much. My husband is very, very good at it.

Of course I'm pretty new at TTC and I may eventually change my tune, but at the moment I don't fancy giving it up for the sake of possibly improving my conception odds.

  • Since we are already dealing with MFI, oral play is a no go during the FW. I am not going to add anything that could hurt our chances anymore.

  • I'm trying to abstain from warm ups for DH during the FW just because I don't need anything else hurting my chances (over 35). I haven't discussed it with DH and he hasn't asked.

  • @Budders12 taught me early on that saliva was a no-no for TTC, so usually we've skipped the oral.  Except once, when I forgot, and said to DH shortly after, "Oh no, I forgot we shouldn't do this."  But yea, I'm all for it as a warm-up, but to finish the job, that's another story.  TMJ and lock jaw is no joke.

I saw in my notifications that I was tagged in this thread and got VERY curious. I'm glad this is why.
Hadn't thought about it that way, keeping it PG.  ;)

  • I laughed at this entire topic!  Love it!!!!  So when my H went to the doctor for his physical a few months before we started TTC he asked if he needed to avoid anything to increase our odds.  The doc said not to use lube and that "Mouth play is fine but spitting is bad"...... we quote that a lot here and laugh about it.  Also his doc is in his late 50s and I know his kids pretty well..... ICK!

We do oral still about 30% of the time I would guess.  Neither of us are making "waterfalls" so I am thinking we are fine.....  then again no BFP yet!
  • What! I didn't know this! This is why I heart you ladies. You are teaching me so much! Hope this doesn't make me out this month. I'm going to go obsess about that now.

I chose the sometimes button, but it has nothing to do with it being unfriendly to sperm.  Both of my kids were conceived drunk and with saliva.  Neither of them have anything wrong with them :-)
I have totally thought about this before.  I figure there are millions of people out there who's conception involved saliva, and countless other things for that matter!
I don't want to hurt my chances, but I'm not going to stop the oral just yet.

  • Oral is always on the menu over here.
  • I plan to cancel out the saliva with preseed! I feel like if we give up oral during my FW, sex will become all about TTC and not about what feels good. I don't want it to feel like a job for DH...

    Surely you jest
Should have made it more clear I was joking! Sorry
