On Thursday 8/28 had my rogular weekly visit and with baby still breech scheduled our c-section for 9/4. Well for the rest of 8/28 I spent the day making a list of everything that I still needed to get done and cleaning was top of the list and would happen Sunday 8/1.
Saturday 8/31 I got up and worked at 13 hour shift no problems not even a single cramp. Got home at around 10:30 pm made a quick dinner for my husband and layer in bed. Well at around 11:45 I got this really sudden sharp pain in my lower abdomen. I grabbed the area that hurt and a large gush of fluid came out all over me, the bed, and the carpet. I told my husband to get up now and get me a towel my water had just broken. I have never seen my husband with a more panicked look on his face, lol will always cherish that moment.
I went to the bathroom to wipe down and water just continued to gush out. The on call nurses line kept getting disconnected so we called L&D told them I am on my way and my baby is breech. Also I ended up putting on my husbands boxers because in the panick I could not for the life of me find a clean pair. I am also crying and telling my husband we are not ready the house is a mess and we have no groceries and still a few baby items I wanted. My husband had to tell me it is okay it is her time and we are more than ready. My husband drove about 90 the entire way (he has seen to many movies and thought baby was just going to fall out my vagina).
We get to L&D and I change I to their gown and then waited from 12:30 am to 8:20ish am to be wheeled back for c-section. I am actually happy for the wait because it gave me the opportunity to feelwhat real contractions were like as I was sad I would never experience that.
Surgery happens and our little Rebecca Ann came out but first and with a fantastic set of lungs. My husband went to stand with her while they checked her over. At birth she was 6lb 1oz and 19 inches long. I am so in love with our adorable teeny baby.
I got discharged yesterday. It has been a rough yet wonderful first fees days of parenthood. I am overjoyed with how much my DH has stepped up the the plateof being an amazing father. It makes me love him that much more. He has co.forged me through 4 meltdowns already when I could not get her to stop crying or make the gas bubbles go away. I felt like I was her mommy I should be able to help her but it was always someone else who could soothe her. When she wascalm again her smile and snuggles would make up for rthat small moment of slef doubt as a parent.
Sorry that was longer than I thought. All in all I am very happy with how my birth story went. I am so in love with my rainbow and just am cherishing every moment I have.
