Beginning of the month and it is a perfect time to get my butt in gear! Let's get this check in back up and going! All are welcome!
- How has it been doing? Did you fall off or stay on the band wagon? Or like me-- hanging onto the back bumper trying to hang on....
- What helps you keep organized on track with healthy eating and fitness?
- Any goals that you have for the upcoming week/month?
Re: Health/Fitness/Wellness Check In
I fell off the band wagon and have been trying to run behind it for the last month. Luckily I haven't gained any weight from my binge but I certainly haven't lost any.
If your BMI is over 30, my health insurance will pay 100% for weight watchers so I will be starting that this week. Anyone else ever stuck with Weight Watchers? I think I really need to KEEP going to the meetings, hopefully that will help.
Planning out my week on Sundays has helped for the most part. DH and I will pick days to exercise and meal plan for the week. I definitely need to find some healthier quick meals for week nights. I struggle with packing lunches. I tend to run out of time in the morning and run out without my lunch. Then I end up with McDonalds or Taco Bell.....
Goals. I would like to lose 10 pounds by Halloween. Small goals, small steps. Does anyone do a reward system for themselves, like if I excerise three times this week I can buy the new scarf?
DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome.
131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
@iandloveandyou1 I love the cutting up the veggies on Sundays. We having been getting a lot more fruits and veggies to give to Allison and we are hoping that having them in the house will let us make better choices. That way if I stealing from her at least I am still fruits and veggies!
@gutsymama Hats off to you with P90X3, I sweat just watching the commercials! Love the bucket list idea. I would love to get out more and this definitely gives you reason to adventure out.
I stress/boredom eat too. I have actually tried to keep a stress ball in the car because I "think I am hungry". The stress ball also stopped my texting and driving a couple years ago (mutli uses)
It is very lifestyle focused. I have lost a little over 10 lbs.
I did it in the past and lost 38 lbs and kept it off until getting pregnant.
Good luck to us all! I have 42 lbs to lose.

I'm just super excited that he can grow his hair out again. He has fabulous hair. I'm jealous of it. I also think it's super sexy

How long do they say you have to do something to make it a habit?
I may have to look into this 21 day fix concept. Portions are also a tough go.
But I pulled a tendon the next day so only walking since. I try to walk/run 5-7k a day with at least 15000 steps (still addicted to my fitbit).
I am not really dieting but am considering going sugar free for a couple of weeks again. I am addicted to circus peanuts/ marshmallow bananas.
I need to concentrate on my abs. I have been neglected my situps.
Don't wanna stir the pot but it's true.
I am 10 lbs above pre-preg weight (it was a healthy weight for me). I don't have a specific goal, but I would like to be closer to that number.
My other issue is that I hate exercising! We don't have the $ for a gym membership. I am trying to go on walks with ds, but he ends up falling asleep or zoning out enough to not take his naps that day. So I have to weigh exercising vs. a super cranky toddler who gets a 20 min nap.
I think by cutting something like that is a good start.
@lancomechica is right. I think for anything to work for the long haul it has to be a lifestyle change.
Over the past few weeks, I lost 12 pounds by being lazy and stopping my exercise routine. I can't figure this out!
I have 8 pounds to go to my pp weight. I still can't believe I am under 200 again. I thought I was going to be wearing my moms work pants forever.
The last time I ran that long was probably 2009. I just decided to blow my running plan that day and see how far I could go.
@lauraB1016 I cut out all sugar back in March and April. The first two weeks were not fun. I don't think I'll go as long this time (halloween candy is soon!)
I've been doing okay, it's been a bit tough sticking with my T25 workouts since going back to work and still pumping on lunch break, which is my normal workout time at the office. But I've stuck with it for the sake of challenge group I'm hosting (full disclosure: I'm a Beachbody coach as a side job).
@LauraB1016 as for habits, I've been told that it takes three weeks to form a habit, hence the concept around 21Day Fix
I'm bummed fall is around the corner, I find I'm so much more active in the nicer weather. Won't be long until the bike and rollerblades are packed for the season

I love freezer meals! They are soo convinent. While I probably don't make the healthiest freezer meals for the time being I think it is better then going out to eat where I would most likely get French fries and something fried.... WTG @Karen0477!
Speaking of French fries I almost caved and went downstairs for French fries. Luckily DH reminded me of the carrots he packed for me! That was a close call.
