Hair gel for mohawks?

DS wanted a mohawk so I gave him one on Sunday. He loves it. He doesn't want to wet his hair because he doesn't want to wash it away (have had to work to convince him mohawks aren't like temporary tattoos).

But he's got this baby fine hair and hair spray weighs it down. He's upset when it's flat (early version of a bad hair day). I think we need gel, but wasn't sure if it mattered what kind we got.

This is how he likes it.

You probably want more of a glue or a paste than an actual gel. DH has this black Axe tub (red writing) and it doesn't stink like regular axe but works great on DS' hair, especially as he has a tricky cowlick in the front. We've been rocking the 'hawk for most of his life over here.

Can I get that at a grocery store? That's where I'll be later. I don't need if straight up, but a bit taller.
