Anterior placenta?

Hello ladies! So I am 19+ weeks. This is my 3rd (and last) baby. I was really looking forward to feeling this one as much as I have the other 2, especially since this will be our last. I have yet to feel any movement. I wasnt worried as his heart rate has always been ok. At my anatomy scan yesterday, I found out why I cant feel him..... My placenta is anterior, meaning in the front of uterus.

..... I am very happy and blessed that I have a healthy baby but I am sad that I will not be able to feel him like I did my girls..... I was told I will feel him later on but not as much as if the placenta was in the back. Anyone have this before and still feel their baby a good bit? Thanks

I had an anterior place at with my first and I didn't feel any movement until 22 weeks. After that, I would feel him move constantly!

Having an anterior placenta doesn't change how it feels once they're bigger and their kicks and jabs become more powerful. It's just harder to feel it when they are still small, tiny kicks. Don't worry, you should be feeling it very soon

I found out yesterday that I have the same, though I've been feeling it (Team Green) move around alot recently. But this is my first so I don't know any better. Hope yours becomes more of a kicker so u can feel it dancing in there!

I found out a couple weeks ago that I'm in the same boat. I'm almost 23 weeks now and have been feeling movement for about 2 or 3 weeks. Hang in there..it will happen!

I had an AP with my last pregnancy. While it took a while to start feeling the kicks (22-23w), once I did, it was nonstop. She loved kicking me in the ribs! You'll feel the little one, don't worry.

Ladies who have had AP previously, were people able to feel it from the outside? If so, how long did it take

I had an AP last time. It took a long time to feel movement, 22 weeks? But after that I always felt movement especially once the baby was bigger and I felt kicks up high where the placenta wasn't in the way.

@CuppyCakes721‌ my husband was able to feel kicks from the outside, but not for a long time. It was definitely in the 3rd trimester.

Yes, absolutely! My H was able to feel movement from the outside at around the same time as me(@22 weeks). Once the baby is stronger, it is no different than having a posterior placenta(I've had both).

I had an anterior placenta with my daughter. I didn't feel movement for a long time (22-23 weeks?)but when I did, it never slowed down. It was amazing to see her move so much on the a/s and not feel a thing!

When I did feel movements, the movements I felt were the big ones. Honestly, it helped me sleep a ton more because you don't feel the smaller movements as much. Hubby was able to feel baby at some point, but definitely not as often as he has with this pregnancy (not an anterior placenta this time).

Toward the end of pregnancy I did have a bit of a tougher time feeling movement. I went in twice my last month due to lack of movement only to find out she was just fine in there. The whole 'lay on the right side for an hour and count after drinking OJ' didn't work for me and rather than worry, my Doctors office would send me in for monitoring.

I have AP this time and I've been feeling him all over this week(I'll be 20 weeks on Friday). Recently I started feeling him on my far right side from the outside too. I didn't feel my DD from the outside until 21/22 weeks

Welcome to the party...I am the same and I didn't feel her till my A/S yesterday and the tech pushed down on her head and she moved and kicked from the side... I FINALLY felt her. It sucks i want to feel my lil one more as well.

I guess just have to be patient!

I don't know where my placenta was with my daughter, but I didn't feel her until 21 weeks and she hardly ever moved after that. I had an anterior placenta with my son and felt him ALL the time. First kick was at 16 weeks and DH could feel kicks (from the outside, obviously) at 18 weeks. This is another girl, and another anterior placenta. I felt the first kick yesterday at 17w on the dot. She's not as active as her brother but I do feel her. Anterior placenta won't make that much of a difference when the baby is bigger.

Same story here. I started feeling movement two days ago (21 weeks) and it is pretty few and far between at this time. Considering how much LO was moving around during the a/s the docs figure that I'm probably only going to feel the "big" movements for a while longer yet until LO gets a bit bigger.

That being said I was able to tell when LO was pressed against various organs from about 17 weeks. Had about a week where LO was basically bicycle kicking my bladder and headbutting my stomach... not comfortable! Not painful but there was a definate feeling of pressure.

i found out friday that i have an anterior placenta. i was sure there was something wrong because i HAVE been feeling movement for a long time now (since around 13w), just not all the time and mostly only down very low. everything i've read said you didn't feel anything at all early with an anterior placenta so i was sure that wasn't it, lol. it was a relief to know that i was wrong though. what the NP told me is that some women do feel movement earlier around the edges, and that i will feel movement in the center later when baby is strong enough for kicks to be felt through the placenta, but that smaller movements will still only be felt at the very top, bottom, and sides, rather than in the center.

I've had anterior placenta both tines, lucky ne. Hahaha. This time I've still been able to feel things for a while, but with my first I think I was 22 weeks + before I was sure. My husband felt stuff a few weeks ago.

I had anterior placenta with DD2 and didn't feel her much in front throughout the pregnancy. Sure felt her in my ribs though.

We were able to feel kicks here and there, but not nearly as much as with my other two girls and this baby.

I have an anterior placenta and I've been feeling a little movement for a few weeks but nothing consistent until a few days ago. It's still not consistent but it is more often.

I'm over 22 weeks and have an anterior placenta this time and can feel the baby like crazy, so I wouldn't worry too much! In a few more weeks you will likely feel him more often

unless of course he just doesn't move that much ...which does happen

I was just told by the ultra sound tech and overseeing dr that I have an anterior placenta, but I've been feeling this baby like crazy all week. I'm almost 19w.

I, too, just found out I have an AP. I've been feeling baby for the last few weeks and have felt him kick from the outside once. I have a doppler to put my mind at ease.

I have an AP, too, and now that she's a little bigger, I feel her pretty consistently.
