s/o books--what is your LO reading?

M's favorite is this Old Mother Hubbard-based book that she has liked forever.

She is also into "Peppa Pig Goes to School."  Not because of any narrative, but because there are a lot of interesting pages.

She enjoys an old book of mine about the ABCs.

Really, she could stand to mix it up.  We spend at least 30 minutes/day on the first two.  Since she rejects most books these days, I think I'm just going to have to wait it out.

Re: s/o books--what is your LO reading?

  • DD loves books, so I wish we had more. We have the Hungry Caterpillar, Little Engine the Could, I Love You Through and Through, a "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" spin off, and some other random ones. She really likes this puppy one that we have that has different textures to feel on each page.

  • Brown Bear, Goodnight Moon, some Construction book (he is obsessed with trucks and such) and Elmo Potty Book are his favorites....this week lol

We have a huge basket of books so it changes lol

  • DS likes flap books and anything with sound. he is really into all the Where is Babys Bellybutton, etc and always picks those out first.  But he likes the ones where you read along and push the sound buttons to coordinate.
  • It seems to vary - he adores books. Always has, really. He calls them "Goo"s. Weird.

His current favorites are his Old McDonald book, and The Very Hairy Bear.

  • DD is a big fan of anything by Mo Willems, the Karen Katz lift the flap books, and "Dog" by Matthew van Fleet. Oh and anything by Sandra Boynton is a big hit.

  • DD's favorite books are "Peek A Who" "Mommy Hugs" "Goodnight Moon" She loves books so she is always bringing them to me to read. Many many times in a row.

    Elmo Potty Book

I want to kill this book. We got it as a gift and DS loves pushing the buttons.
lol we have that one and it is VERY annoying but the there is another one that has no buttons, it is a large board book it has Elmo's mom in it, it is very cute...that is what he is in to

  • DD loves lift-the-flap books, but sometimes she rips the flaps off. So that's annoying. Right now she really likes a book called "1-2-3 count with me," which of course has a million flaps in it. She also likes "Where Is Baby's Belly Button," her Winnie the Pooh board books, and books with animals in them. She loves to read "Me and My Mom" before naps and "Goodnight Moon" before bed.

Anything with a pig or a "choo choo."  Also, the Pete the Cat books.
    Pigs are a major hit.

  • DS just isn't into books - except some touch and feel ones and 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'.  It bugs me because I love to read to him and DD was/is obsessed with books.  DS, not so much.  I'm sure it'll come some day.

  • Books are huge in my house. We've been fortunate to have many friends/family hand down used books to us and I regularly take the kids to the library to pick out other books.

    Some current favorites:

    -Flip Flap Fly

    -Little Blue Truck

-Monkey Do! (book about a monkey that escapes the zoo)

    -Who Wants a Dragon

    -I Love My Mommy

-anything about Elmo; We may need an Elmo intervention at my house soon

@lbonga1, Do you have a library nearby that you could take books out of for more variety? Tag sales may also be a good place to get used books relatively inexpensively.
