Braxton Hicks question from FTM

I did a search through the discussions and strangely couldn't find anything, so I apologize in advance if my searching skills are just no bueno. I just started getting Braxton Hicks Contractions (I think). I really have no frame of reference, so I'm really at a loss. I never even got period cramps, so that doesn't mean much. For me, I confuse it with an all over stomach cramp from an empty stomach with a lot of gas... But alas, no gas. For those of you who experience them, how often would you say you get them? I'm not particularly worried, more curious than anything. There's no weird other symptoms accompanying them and they are way less frequent than the interwebs tells me to be worried (4 in an hour or more). I have an OB appt on Thurs, so I'll bring it up then, but I thought I'd ask the ladies who are currently going through it.

    Some days I only have a couple. Other days I have more. Some days they are painful enough for me to need to breathe through them. Other days they are easily ignored.
