Not baby related.

Im looking for a good gym recommendation. My husband and I are considering joining a gym and right now my choices are between L.A. fitness and Lifetime fitness. I really like what all these two places offer the pool perticuraly because I LOVE to swim. That being said do you ladies have a particular gym that you would recommend looking into and if so why and what is there pricing like?

My husband belongs to LA Fitness, but only because he is still on his family plan from way back when it was Vic Tanny's. For me to join, there was an enrollment fee and then it was like $35/month. I just pay the $10/mo to go to the local Planet Fitness; that won't help you though because PF doesn't have a pool. :)

A couple of years ago when I was looking for a new gym, I was really impressed by Lifetime, but I was not impressed with their pricing for a single person. I remember thinking that they would be a great place once my FAMILY joined, as they have a ton of stuff for kids to do and the pricing for four people was comparable to four at Anytime Fitness or (at that time) Bally's. I think it was around $120/mo for a family plan, but that included fitness classes, classes for the kids, the pools, etc. For a single person, it was $65/mo - versus the $30 most other places charged.

I hope that helps... :) We live in Macomb.

Edit: I should add as well that a family plan includes lots of members... my intern's parents were on the family plan with their six (!) kids, and the boys were able to stay on until they were 21.
