did my cold affect my output

a question and in need of encouragement.

i've been back to work a few weeks and pumping has been going well. i was able to pump enough to cover the DC usage and sometimes store 3-4 ounces at end of the day

i caught a mild cold from LO last week and noticed the last 3 days my output is drastically lower. for instance i went from pumping at least 4 ounces a session to getting 2 ounces, 3 ounces total if i am really lucky.  fwiw i pump every 3 hours at work after an AM pump when LO has nursed.  since i have had low output i added an evening session after LO goes to bed and am lucky if i get 1.5 ounces total....

is it possible the cold affected my output? i didn't take any medication for it.  i'm starting to worry that my supply is going south. i've tried changing out the pump parts too.... :(

  • I agree with Casey. Increase hydration and keep up with your pumping schedule. Hope you are feeling better and you get back to pumping your usual amount!
