No belly :/

I'm 13 weeks and I have every pregnancy symptom there is, I'm even starting to see my nose spread, but still my stomach looks like I have a little gut. Is anyone else going through the same thing?

  • lol I'm starting to get that pregnancy nose. @mudbug84‌
  • Yes, thank you :)
  • Oh yes it's very real! Even before I got pregnant I dreaded getting it @mudbug84‌
  • I didn't look pregnant until after 17 weeks last time...that was with 2 babies in there.

I also have never heard of your nose spreading. Off to consult Google...

  • As a second timer, I sure wish I could look like I did the first time around! I didn't show until about 20 weeks to strangers.

  • I'm the weird one who enjoys looking pregnant. But only because I have a belly most of the time anyway so I don't have to suck it in anymore lol.

But trust me, a huge belly gets old fast. And heavy. Enjoy this time.
  • I guess I am the only one who is excited for the "lap tray" to come back?! :)
  • Lol I had pregnant nose with my daughter. I wouldn't believe it if it hadn't happened to me. The girls at work used to say I was pregnant in the face wtf lol

  • I'm 12 weeks 2 days and everyone says they can't tell at all yet. Sometimes I think I have a little pooch and I even tried to stick it out but my hubby says he can't tell lol. I'm just enjoying being able to still wear all my clothes, Although I am starting to wear more flowy tops just just so if I am bloated it doesn't just look like I gained 5 lbs :) my co-worker didn't start showing where I could tell until close to 4 months so I'm pretty sure it's normal :) and ya... Never heard of the nose thing! :-/ my nose is already super long so hopefully that doesn't happen to me or my whole face will look like nose! Ha!
  • I am 11&4 with my first and 80% of the time I look the same, I haven't gained any weight yet. From about 6pm though I bloat like crazy and could easily be 8months pregnant haha!
  • I think most people are probably going through the same thing. For a first pregnancy, 13 weeks is really, really early to start showing.

  • With my first, I started to show at about 15 or so weeks(it's hard to remember it was 8 years ago). With my 2nd, I started to show at about 13 weeks(again it's hard to remember because it was 7 years ago). With this one, I already started to "show" at 9 weeks, but now at 11 weeks, there's no doubting that I'm pregnant! It will come in time! Everyone is different.
  • Honestly my biggest fear is something being wrong with my baby like I see stories about the baby just stopped growing or the heart stopped and I wouldn't know if it did or not. Because of insurance matters I had to wait so long to see a doctor. I'm 13 weeks and my first appointment is 10/9, I'll be 18 weeks by then and I do everything I'm supposed to do as far as taking care of my body, taking vitamins etc but it still scares me and by my stomach still being little a million thoughts come to mind. I just want baby to be okay.

That's a valid fear! Trust at times I feel the same. You just have to block that fear from your head/heart. I know it's easier said than done. Just keep repeating to yourself "today I'm pregnant until someone tells me otherwise! My love for my baby outweighs my fears!"
  • Thank you, I will do that.
  • With my first you could barely tell I was pregnant at 6 months. This time at 12 weeks I already look like 6 months. We haven't told anyone yet so I actually wish I wasn't showing yet.

You haven't seen a doctor at all yet? I wouldn't be okay with that, having to wait until 18 weeks.

Belly size isn't indicative of baby's health. Some women experience zero symptoms other than a positive test/missed period and some women have every symptom under the sun. None of that makes a difference to how your baby is doing. Without reason to think otherwise, I'm sure baby is just fine! I get the same fear so I got myself a Doppler which has been a big help.
  • I'm not okay with it but I mean it's nothing I can do about it. It's stressing me out the more I think about it. What is a Doppler?

I was going to suggest a doppler also.  It just a device that you can use to listen the baby's heartbeat at home (which is pretty much all your doctor is going to do at this point anyway).

This is the one I have:  CLICKY
  • I second the doppler. Hearing baby's heartbeat may put your mind at ease

  • Just an update. I went to the ER today & heard the baby's heart beat, they said it was perfect. I'm so happy & at ease.
