Constipation

I think LO may be constipated.  She hasn't had a dirty diaper since Friday (she's on soy she she normally goes once a day, or every other day at the least).  She went a tiny bit today but it wasn't the runny/soft stuff like usual.  It wasn't a dry pebble, but it was much thicker and drying than usual and it was only a small amount for not having gone since Friday.  She's been very agitated today and was a little yesterday as well.

She's between doctors right now, I'll call her old doctor if I need to but thought I'd ask first what others have used.  Is Little Tummies laxative ok, or do you just use prune juice?  FWIW, she's not on any kind of solids yet.

    We do apple juice . Works everytime !

    I second the diluted apple juice. about 1 oz of juice to 1 oz of water. It took about 12 hours to work but it managed to unplug him.

    Lo Had issues before. Dr said to give 1 ml karo, Works in 12 hour

    Our pedi also said 1 ounce prune juice mixed with 1 ounce of water.

    Will is chronically constipated. He gets 1 tsp Karo syrup in up to 6 bottles a day.

    Thanks, I've tried some prune juice today, hopefully we'll see progress tomorrow and a happier little girl.

    I am with you!! I was just coming here to talk to you all about poop!! She hasn't pooped much since Wednesday!!! Last night she finally pooped a little but nothing to write home about after five days without!! I just cooked up some plums and purred them for her tonight. Hopefully we see some progress. Did anyone else not know that prunes are dried plums!! I felt so dumb when I read that!

    I had no idea! I thought prunes was a fruit. Lol
