Hey everyone. I'm really excited about this challenge. I think it's going to be much more productive than the no spending challenge. I think that it'll be more of a challenge for me personally. It'll force me to look at the bigger picture instead of just moping around for a few days until I can spend again.
DH and I plan on putting an extra $100 in our make a baby fund. In order to do that we're cutting down on quite a few extras. We're eating out less, no random amazon shopping sprees for me, no extremely unnecessary trips to Cabela's for him. We're also going to rent out part of our land next weekend to get a little extra cash flow.
What areas are you going to cut back on to get the extra money for savings? Remember your savings amount can be whatever number is good for you.
Re: September Budgeting/Savings Challenge Week 1
Websites I opened today: Aerie, Carters, Zulily, Tula, Diapers.com, Amazon
Number of websites I shopped on today: ZERO!!
At the end of August, I ordered curtains for DD's room off PBK, some football apparel for her, and then that was IT. No more shopping except for essentials. This marks our first month of doing a monthly budget sheet thanks to the recommendations by you ladies on here. It may take two or three months to get into a "groove" with it to see how much we can save, but my goal of setting aside at LEAST $300 this month for our Christmas shopping still stands.

@MrsTo514 Baby steps is a good idea. It's less about the amount and more about the mentally of saving. At least that's what I'm trying to tell myself.
