25 weeks pregnant & have yet to feel baby move

I am pregnant with my first child. A baby girl. I am high risk so have had many ultrasounds or more than usual. In the ultrasounds, I am able to see her move, but have yet to fell her move or kick. I've talked to my doctors & they act like everything is okay. However I'm starting to panic. Without the ultra sounds I wonder if she is okay. It's so stressful. Is anyone else experiencing this or anyone you know. I need advice. Thanks!

  • Do you happen to know where your placenta is located? I have anterior placenta so it's located up front and it took a little longer to start feeling kicks.

  • I don't have an anterior placenta and I still didn't really for sure feel anything until about 24 weeks. I was told not to worry and that some women don't feel movement until 26-28 weeks. Don't let it worry you too much!
  • I just started feeling movements regularly, and tonight they got a little bit stronger. I always feel her in the same spot-bottom right. I also have an anterior placenta. My doctor told me that it is normal to have not felt anything until now. Also, she told me that since the colon is on the left side the baby typically stays to the right. If the doctor says everything is okay, I wouldn't worry at all. If you are paranoid (like I was) you might look into buying a fetal heart monitor just to help yourself relax knowing that the baby is okay.
  • There's a million things that effect how much you can feel baby- how she's lying, your placenta, if you're plus size, your first child, etc. As long as all those ultrasounds look good, you have nothing to worry about! Breathe easy- the flutters and kicks will come <3

With my first I didn't feel anything until about 26 weeks. With this LO I have just started to feel movement daily. As a FTM I also think it's harder to determine what is baby kick from gas or something else. You may have felt baby and not even known it. As long as your ultrasounds were fine try not to worry. I know, easier said than done.

  • I am 22 1/2 weeks not quite 25 weeks but I have not really felt anything. Although twice one last week and once the week before I felt a feeling like something flipping. I know it was baby but no kicks no flutters just those one time movements. My ob said it takes longer for FTM to figure out what they are feeling and that she never felt flutters. All of her kids, 3 of them, she started feeling kicks. I don't know if I have an anterior placenta but I am over weight. Maybe LO is kicking while you sleep. LOL

  • I'm a FTM, 24+ weeks. At my 20w ultrasound they told me I have an anterior placenta. At my most recent ultrasound, this past Wednesday, I told them I wasn't sure I was feeling her but did feel gas sometimes and they old me that was probably movement. They also told me she was still pretty small and I wouldn't feel anything definite for like a month.

  • I don't know if you've tried, but you could try eating and then laying on your back. Try placing your hand on different parts of your tummy for 30s each part, not pressing down or poking. My colleague had an anterior placenta and told me she mostly felt hiccups.

  • I have anterior and it took a while.  I still don't feel him every day.  If your doctors feel comfortable after your ultrasounds, try not to worry.  I know it's a bummer not to feel it, though!  As someone suggested - try eating.  LO always seems most active after meals.

  • With my twins (first) I didn't even feel a flutter til 25 weeks and discernible kicks didn't start til 27ish.

This time I felt the flutters at 16 weeks and am currently having my hole kicked regularly. :)

I think everyone's different and its not something to worry about at this point.
