If you don't like either name keep it to yourself please.

We've been having a really tough time coming up with names we agree on. We finally have 2 that we THINK will work. They are very similar, but not exactly the same and I can't decide which I like more...

Help!

Kellen is a Gaelic word for "powerful". I like both equally, Kalen was really only thrown in the mix because DH heard that one of the football players at ASU is Kalen and well that's it. LOL!

Kellen is on our short list too. It's amazing to me how names have a life of their own, coming in and out of people's awareness.

I like it! Has meaning, sounds strong, isn't "younique" or crazy sounding.

I picked kalen because that's my brothers name. Actually it's Kalyn. My parents named us all with K's and got lost on what to name him. They saw the name on a truck as they were driving one day lol Kalyn Trucking lol and said hmmm that's a good boy name.

If you are worried about mispronunciation maybe Kaelen or Kaelyn could be alternate spellings. My brother started going by Kal in highschool because people couldn't pronounce his name right and he got annoyed.

    I like Kellen the best.

I don't dislike the other option. I went to school with a guy with that name but he spelled it Kailynn.

I voted Kalen too but I just wanted to throw another alternate spelling out there for you since the other choice was a Gaelic name.

My 2yr olds name is Caelan which is the contemporary Gaelic/Irish way to spell the traditional Gaelic name Caolan/Caolain pronounced Kay lan. It means "Slender King".

I went with Kellen, it's more masculine IMO.

I like kellen- it sounds more masculine to me. Kalen I think would have pronunciation problems- it doesn't look like it should be pronounced 'kaylen'. Also I think that the Kay-Lynn pronoun citation sounds pretty feminine.
