South Shore Hospital OBs

Hi, I'm due in March and am looking for OBs out of South Shore Hospital. I've seen some reviews on Crown and South Shore Women's Health that make me believe that they are not what I'm looking for. I'm not a fan of large practices where you get cycled through lots of doctors and NPs. My SIL was at a practice like that and there were some things that were missed because they weren't communicating. I'd really like a smaller practice of only a few docs. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sarah

Re: South Shore Hospital OBs

  • I go to crown and never had an issue.  You can always just see one Dr or Np but be fully aware that the person you see may not be the Dr that delivers you.  Keeping on top of whats going on and asking questions is great way to make sure nothing gets missed.  Feel free to Pm if you have any other questions about Crown.

  • Had a great experience with South Shore Women's Health. Was referred by my primary care physician. I have great confidence in her for such things. From the first visit, I was very happy with SSWH. I prefer to see doctors over NPs and had no trouble with scheduling. The nurses and support staff are helpful and pleasant. During office hours there is a nurse triage line to answer any questions, passing up to the doctors if needed. On call doctors were responsive overnight. The first doctor I met with was great, but I am glad I decided to rotate between a few providers as the first doctor was not on call during my hospital stay. The doctors I did see were very familiar to me which is a great comfort. The doctors were also supportive when my anatomy screening presented abnormalities, setting up appointments at Children's Hospital and offering supportive services. Fortunately, the condition ended up being minor and was treated and resolved at birth. However, they were so good about helping me through that time. A doctor called after the screening to see how I was and again after our appointment with Children's. I felt like somebody cared and benefitted so much from the medical knowledge they shared to guide me during that time. I really can't say enough good things.
