When did you feel them move?

Hello everyone! I've been replying to the pregnancy updates, but I think this is my first actual post *waves* hiii!

Most of my info is in my siggy!

I'm 19w1d with my twins and am wondering when you felt yours move? Or even the little "bubble" feeling I've heard about? I freak myself out a lot at night because I have been waking up throughout the night laying on my stomach (we have a memory foam bed, and its surprisingly comfortable to sleep on my stomach right now) or on my right side, which I have read is not the "safest" and I guess the fact that I haven't felt anything yet makes me nervous and I feel like I'm squishing them (which is another ridiculous thing to be concerned about). Its a stupid thing to be nervous about right now, but it took so long to even get these babies in me that every little thing kind of freaks me out.

Sorry about the ramble =]

Re: When did you feel them move?

  • I did not start feeling movement (or what I contributed to them moving) until the middle of week 19. These are not my first so I was thinking I'd feel them earlier.
  • Depends where your placenta is. I have an anterior placenta on both. Thought I felt movement around 22w but now that I'm 28.5w and getting really kicked now think that might've been gas lol.
  • Loading the player...
  • I also have anterior placentas and didn't feel movement until 2 weeks ago at 24 weeks. I wasn't sure what it was at first :-)

  • Well I'm not much help because I felt them pretty early even with anterior placentas, but I felt DD very early too. That being said, I really wouldn't worry about not feeling them yet or sleeping on your stomach or right side. Your body will tell you when you need to stop doing that.

  • I was 22 weeks before I felt anything. That was around the same time as my singletons too.

I found out at my first MFM appt with an u/s at 12 wks. Otherwise it would've been at the a/s at 20 wks.

Honestly I was 22-23 weeks before I felt much of anything that could definitely be attributed to baby movements. Even now at 27w3d they aren't super active. I'm not sure if it has to do with their positioning (they're both breech and like to face toward each other) or what, but try not to worry.

I know, easier said than done.

ETA: I don't have a lot of extra padding, so I thought I would feel them sooner. Someone mentioned to me that being long waisted sometimes makes feeling them harder (which I am). Not sure if that is true or not though.
