Nathan and Natalie??

Is it too weird to name my daughter Natalie when my sons name is Nathan? My husband and I are James and Jamie and we or only having 2 kids. I thought it was cute but get mixed reviews.

    If their nicknames are Nat and Nate, then I think it's too close. I probably wouldn't choose names that were so similar, personally, but they're both really nice names, so if you love Natalie more than any other girl name, go for it.

    I so like the suggestion of using Natalia nn Talia, though.

    Are you going to call them Nate and Nat? If so, then I think they are too close. If you use your son's full name, then it's just fine.

    I think they sound cute together, but agree with pp's about nicknames. If you try using Nate it might sound a little too close.

    I think it's super cute and they sound like the protagonists in an awesome adventure story.
    My sister and I have names that start with the same letter, and are not dissimilar sounding. It's caused no trouble for us.
    Anyway you and your partner will be the ones saying the names most often, if it sounds right to you, go for it!

    Thanks everyone! We/family generally call our son Nathan. His school friends call him Nate. If we went with Natalie I would def go with her full name it's too pretty to shorten. Lots to think about! Back up name is Avery

    I think its cute! my best friend comes from a family of 8 kids, and two of her sibs are named Victor and Victoria. they are also the best of friends, and only about a year and a half apart. Super cute I think.
