Talk to your OB/medical professional. I was having pain in my low back and tailbone. I have since received a prescription for PT and have a seat cushion.
First ask your OB. You never know if it could be caused by a normal pregnancy symptom or something else. I was told that I could use heating pads to soothe the pain, warm compresses, Tylenol or a nice massage by your significant other.
Definitely pillow between the knees and stretching before bed! Also I used to shower in the mornings, but now I shower right before bed.. And that seems to help too!
I second, third, and fourth the prenatal yoga. I had bad sciatica during my pregnancies with the girls, and I still use some of the movements/poses for sciatica today.
I use a snoogle pillow to sleep every night and it has helped significantly with my hip and back pain. Have you tried a pre-natal massage? I can't wait to go get mine! I also agree with the other moms about physical therapy and prenatal yoga. Good luck to ya!
A warm Epsom salt bath does wonders for my back right before bed and also helps me sleep. I totally concur with child's pose and cat/cow. Swimming also gives me some temporary relief.
Definitely look into a chiropractor! As everything shifts, it pulls the spine out of alignment. When it's in the right place, it's (usually) less painful. It's worth checking into!
Definitely agree with prenatal yoga and massage-they have really helped me. I also mentioned my back pain to my dr and she printed out a couple sheets of exercises I could do to help back pain. Your dr could probably help with ideas.
