Protecting Yourself and Babe ?

So my 2.5yo loves to climb and bounce on me. We have been trying to calm her down and tell her that she can't bounce on my stomach anymore. I know right now the babe is low enough to be protected but not for much longer.
Any other STMs dealing with this? How are you handling it? I feel like this is a losing battle.

Re: Protecting Yourself and Babe ?

  • My 23 month old (I just cant say two yet) is all sharp elbows and knees. She likes to climb over me using my belly and then a boob...to sit on my shoulders.since my boobs are so sensitive I usually say ouch....she is slowely stopping. But those elbows though. I'm not worried about the bub as my tummy gets bigger it'll be a little easier for her to understand.

  • Not a STM but I work with two year olds. While playing with baby dolls or reading books and a baby comes up, I mention "do you know where my baby is?" After the first week, almost every child understands. All you really can do is talk about it often.
  • My almost three year old loves to do this we told her that a baby is on the way that didn't sink in for a few weeks... But it has no she always points to my tummy and says baby... Because of that if she gets over worked I say don't bounce on mommy you could hurt the baby... She stops and says hurt the baby... No don't hurt the baby. And she stops
