Amber necklace

I'm a FTM so forgive this semi- SS post! Have any STMs had luck with them for teething? Do you plan on using one when teething time comes in the next month or so?

Re: Amber necklace

  • Don't plan on using them I don't think they work.  DD got her teeth with little to no pain.  Im hoping DS does the same.

  • My two year old wears one, but she didn't start wearing it regularly until she was probably 14 months. It worried me too much to put one on an infant. As for how much it works, I can't really say. She cut all her molars and canine teeth while wearing it and I never knew she was teething. But I didn't really notice when she was teething when she cut her other teeth either.
  • @Tdonatoni‌ those hippies up there haven't converted you?! ;)

DD had one. Sometimes I think it worked, sometimes I think it didn't.... Most likely made no real difference. What made the difference was the baby pain reliever on the nights we all needed sleep! I don't typically go for meds, I like to use natural options when possible, but it was seriously a life saver!

    Edit - words
  • This is my third baby and I don't plan on using one.
  • Everyone I know who had used one says they are amazing, including my sister. There are safer ways to use them on an infant, so I wouldn't mind giving it a shot. That said, my husband is dead set against them and I'm not into them enough to pick that hill to die on. So no, we won't be using them.

    CHC arrived 6/2/14

  • I got one as a gift I have been putting it on my 12 week old for the past week. Not sure if it works but since I got as a gift I figured why not. So many friends love them. I got a bracelet for myself and I do feel it helps my carpal tunnel.

Still up in the air if the necklace works.

What does being a FTM have to do with a SS post?
  • Thanks guys! I think it may be a placebo effect type of thing but i may try it if I'm desperate!

  • From but I won't be wasting money on one. I don't think they have special healing power nor do I feel comfortable with the choking hazard, however minor it may be. I plan on dealing with cold teethers and toys that can be chewed on with baby orajel and tylonal if needed.

  • Im going to get the necklace and wrap it around her ankle and put a sock over it. If I notice a difference, I will let her wear it around her neck when she is awake and under my full attention.

    Im intrigued. I'll bite =]

I don't know if things have changed since DS1 was teething, but our pedi warned us about using baby Orajel.  Something about complications that can occur when benzocaine is given to children under a year.

    -----I h8 u, quotes-----

I feel like something came out recently that said Orajel was a bad idea. Did anyone else read that?

And I call shenanigans on the amber teething necklace. It's a silly idea, IMO.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
