New here and not feeling very hopeful

in Pregnant after a Loss
Today i am 5 weeks and 5 days. At 4 weeks my hcg was just 90 and progesterone 20. At 5 weeks my hcg was only 253 and progesterone 14. My doctor says she has a gut feeling i will either miscarry or have an ectopic. I had and ultra sound yesterday at 5 weeks 4 days and there was nothing on the scan but a bit of fluid. I go back in a week for another us. I had another blood draw yesterday and won't know anything until Tuesday bc of the holiday. Has anyone had any experience with low levels of hcg, slow rising hcg and fluid in the uterus? I'm extremely sad and emotional and worried. The nurse says there is still hope but my doctor doesn't feel the same. :(

    I am so sorry you are going through this. Since you are looking for experience I will be honest with you in saying that this does sound like how my ectopic started. I also had slow rising betas and fluid seen around 5/6 weeks. It wasn't until 7wks that the ultrasound was able to confirm the pregnancy was in my tube. I also had abnormal bleeding though, have u had that at all? This may not be the case for you but I just wanted to share. Sending all my t&p's to you that everything is okay. ((Hugs))

    I haven't had any bleeding. I have noticed my earlier symptoms of breast ttenderness, bloating, and frequent urination have subsided. My body temperature has changed too, not feeling those hot flashes I did before. I guess that means my hormones are decreasing day by day. It's really hard wondering and waiting. I have to somehow pretend nothing is wrong and try to get through these next few weeks until i miscarry or take meds. Feeling sad.

    I hate to say this sounds similar to my experience with an ectopic pregnancy. My 1st beta was 336 at 5wks1, p4 was 12. 2nd beta two days later was 726 and p4 was 9. Beta did double, but was very low for how far along I should've been, and progesterone dropped way too much. The day of my 1st beta, I had horrendous back/side pain, went to the hospital, and an u/s show fluid in abdomen which the ER Dr said was most likely from a ruptured hemorrhagic cyst. All along, starting at 4wks4, I had light bleeding/spotting. A follow up u/s a week later showed a ruptured ectopic (that day, my beta was 1,050, p4 2). If you have any pain at all, or bleeding, I would go to the hospital.

    Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers. No pain or bleeding yet. If it has to be I'm praying for a natural Mc and no surgery. That would be the best outcome right now :(

    I'm sorry for what you are going through. I wish my doctor was as watchful. Or maybe I wasn't so stubborn last time and surgery could have been prevented. I did have pain in my side and spotting from the start with my ectopic. my heart goes out to you.

    I am so sorry you are in this difficult situation. With my ectopic, I had light brown spotting, we couldn't see anything on the u/s, and betas were rising very slowly. Dr recommended methotrexate, which we agreed to, but then I had terrible pain and ende up needing surgery for the ectopic. I had no damage to tubes, though.

    I hope that this turns out to be a miracle babe with a slow start. If it comes to the worst, I hope your doc can make you as comfortable as possible, and that you won't need surgery. Even if you do, you will find the strength to get through it. In the meantime, be gentle and kind with yourself. Hugs!!!

    Thank you all for your kindness. I started having pain yesterday and it felt a lot like gas and bloating. Then today it turned into cramps. Started bleeding about 2 hours ago. Light bleeding with some pink tissue. I called my ob and the only thing to do is see her tomorrow. Just hoping my body can expel the rest without surgery. Emotionally doing OK because I guess it's meant to be. I hope it's not too long before I get my period so we can start trying again. Against thanks for the thoughts and prayers all. I wish you all healthy pregnancies and hope to see you here again soon with better news!
