K'Tan mamas come on down!

Are you still using your K'Tan? I'm worried LO is getting too big for it, and we'll have to find something else. If you have bought another carrier, what is it?

Also, because I know there are non K'Tan using ladies reading this, tell me more if you're using a wrap. Especially if you've used one with a toddler. I'd planned to get an Ergo or similar so bf can use it too, but in reality I don't think he ever will, so I'm factoring him out of my decision.

I am still using it, but have noticed that my back hurts more quickly now than before, since he's getting chunky. I saw a woman in the grocery store with her LO in a wrap on her hip, and it was intriguing. Have you looked on the K'tan website to try out all the positions? I need to do that since we've been doing Explore for a long time.
I haven't even thought of anything since explore... Racing to the website now!

My bad, Adventure is what we've been doing for over a month. DS loves it. After watching the videos I might try the two hip and hip positions soon, just to see!
Yep, it's adventure here too. After watching the videos I'm willing to give the hip positions a try. But I think I'll still want something else soon. The hip positions seem better for around the house when LO is wanting cuddles, but not great for a big walk or something. But we shall see.

  • I loved mine when DS was a newborn but I haven't even attempted it in months, since it was hurting my back probably 7 or 8 pounds ago.  I'm not a huge baby-wearer now that he doesn't seem to need it as much, but we use the Ergo now when I do baby-wear.

  • the K'tan never really worked for us. We (she?) outgrew it, it seemed around 2 months. It's possible I didn't get a big enough size.
We still use the ring sling (around the house, small things), but mostly our ergos. I find the ergo significantly more comfortable, and with back problems i've been having lately, the ergos are the best for support with miss chunk.

  • I tried the hip carry today. Big fat fail. But I just remembered a friend loaned me a wrap, so I might give that a try. The one thousand pages of directions intimidate me though
