I think I have a problem

I like to write and re-write my grocery list several times.  We're baptizing DD on Sunday and having a party after.  The extra groceries for the party are sending me into a list-making spiral.  I think I need help.  I'm not normally an obsessive list person.  I just get so much satisfaction out of making my grocery list.

  • I'm joking.  :)   My sarcasm is not translating well!

  • Honestly though, this along with your anxiety post from a few days ago could be signaling something deeper.  It might seem quirky now, but it could spiral quickly.  Take care of yourself!
It's really more that I leave things off and then want to re-write it so it's not so messy.  I was trying to be funny, but it's not coming off well.  I appreciate the concern though! :)

  • I love writing my grocery list :)  I group it by aisle/area of the store and it pisses me off when I realize I forgot something from a certain section.  I actually leave a few empty lines between sections just in case :)

    Same!!
  • I am list maker by nature too.especially grocery lists. I also try to go the extra mile by separating said grocery list into sections by where I find it in the store (I.e. bread, milk, cheese, butter altogether and then all produce together type of thing).

  • I caught on to your sarcasm. Way to over analyze people.

Anyway, I'm a freak about my grocery/party lists. I even have to write it according to the store I go to so I'm not all over the place at the store.
  • Oh to have time to write out a grocery list. Our eating habits are spiraling out of control so I never had leftovers to bring for lunch.

Can you make it easy on yourself and just go with some deli platters? How is little one? Gain weight?
We are actually keeping it pretty low key and getting some pulled pork from GFS.  I'm just going to make pasta salad and fruit salad.  I also have to do my big grocery shopping this weekend.  I'm also trying to keep the list really tight and only buy the things we need to save on some cash.

She is doing great!  She had her 4 month appt on Monday and was a whopping 10lbs 11oz.  She's gaining though, so their happy with it.

Yes!  I go to two different stores so I try to write it out by store so I don't waste time looking for things that I'm not getting there.

    I do this too.
  • I do the same thing. I write the list one day and meal plan and the day before or day of, I rewrite it. That way I can make sure I don't forget anything....or I'm completely nuts...but I've always been a list person. I do it for just about everything.

This is exactly what prompted this post today!  I made out my meal plan for the next two weeks and then had to re-write my list!

  • Coming out of lurkdom to mention that the biggest arguments DH and I get into are over him adding shit to my lists, especially if he does it with a different pen. The two different handwritings bugs the shit out of me.
