I was recently diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Dr. started me on clomid and metformin. Just curious, anyone else ever been through this and what kind of success did you have?
I have PCOS. We have been trying for 2+ years (the last year with meds)...see my siggy for my history. I'm currently taking 1500 mg of metformin XR and just waiting to induce my period to start fertility meds again. It's been kind of nice being on a break for the last month. GL to you! Are you going to be monitored with the clomid?
Adopting after multiple rounds of fertility meds and 3 failed IUI's

ok well I am not alone, sorry you have been trying so long yourself Yes, I just started the Clomid and Metformin this week, I go in next saturday for an ultra sound and possible injection of I think it was called Ovidrul or something along those lines to force ovulation. I know a lot of people take the IUI route too which would be a possibility, just not sure about IVF as that is super steep!
I was diagnosed with "mild" PCOS (if there is such a thing) in October, based on my CD3 blood work (my FSH:LH ratio was 3:1, which is indicative, but not too horrible). I had no other symptoms (acne, excessive hair, overweight, etc.) other than long cycles. Too make a long story short, we had been TTC for about 7 months, and only O'd once during that time, so on that CD 3 of my blood work, I also started Clomid, and wound up getting PG that cycle. Don't give up hope...GL!!

I was also diagnosed with PCOS and currently on 100mg clomid. I went in for my first followup appt today. Doc said he could see lots of cysts, he tried to point them out for me, but I really couldn't see anything. He also said I had one egg that looked like it was maturing and I am suppose to go back Tuesday to check on its growth.
