Am I the only one? :(

I am on my 15th week and I'm going on for a month soon where I've had diarrhea! I've gone to the doctors and they told me it's normal for pregnant women to go through this. I've been prescribed to help me heal from it but it only causes me to get a fever and start vomiting....someone help me :((

Re: Am I the only one? :(

  • I've had it on and off too. I think mine is partly triggered by certain foods - greasy things, carbonated sodas, lots of cheese, salad.  When it hits I try to eat things from the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast, also clear soups. Cutting out dairy for a few days may help too.  The main thing is to stay hydrated!  Have you tried any probiotics?  Culturelle (there are store brands of this too) or just the Acidophilus in the vitamin section might help you. After having it that long, the good bacteria in your gut are stripped completely and it is hard for your body to recover, the probiotics will help that.  I hope you feel better!!

  • Does your doc know about the fever and vomiting? Cause you should call them asap about that one. Yes persistent diarrhea is totally normal in pregnancy (both of my pregnancies I had it regularly) but the fever and vomiting with it.. I'd call the doc. Feel better.

  • Yea I alternate between constipation and diarrhea, it's the norm for me while pregnant unfortunately. Make sure you stay hydrated, and talk to your talk about the fevers from the Ned's, that's bad news
