Side-snap/kimono shirts

Anyone have a favorite brand of these things??? I'm loving the ones they have at the hospital (even if they are huge on baby girl) and I have found a big range of them, but wondering what brand everyone likes the most (ie good quality, good price, good fit)

I bought mine from Carters. No on baby experience yet, but they seem really nice.

not technically, I just really like them. Super easy to use with a wiggly nb and I don't have to slip it over her head

Not necessary, but apparently very helpful. It can be a struggle fitting that onsie head hole over your baby, especially if they come out chunky or wiggly like Ms. Alexis above.

I liked them because it didn't seem to bother DS's umbilical cord. I went with whatever was cheap and i could find because I didn't use them as much once it fell off. They are hard to find in my area.

I found some super cute Gerber ones at Target, haven't used them yet. I am bringing some to the hospital with us to use and then at home.

hahah the bright side of her being in the hospital so long? Her cord already fell off. lmao. no need to worry about stump care.

Maybe I'll just steal some from the hospital. Although it'd be nice to have some that actually fit her.

I stole them from the hospital. I must have 6-7 from my girls haha. But I also have some gerber ones. Normally I prefer Carter's (thicker fabric, sizes run bigger) but I have some Gerber ones which worked out perfect since we only used them on a newborn anyhow.

You can find the shirts all over by me, but it's hard to find the onesies (that have the part that wrap around the bottom and snap)

I found a good selection on H&M's website (idk if they have them in store) in a bunch of sizes. They are good quality they just don't have the built in hand covers like the Gerber ones. Target by me used to carry the Gerber ones but now they don't, trying to find the side snap onesies for a reasonable price was like trying to find a needle in a haystack for me.

I've got some from Tiny Tilla by Avon. They are so soft I love them. I also bought some online from h&m. I found some at target too.

I found some cute side snap onesies at H&m. I'm kinda over the shirt they have him in... It's a 6 month shirt and it keeps slipping all over. Might send my mother in law to go get the ones I bought!

I have one outfit from First Impressions (Macys) that I loved with DD. Ill most likely just use the hospital ones until the cord falls off this time.

So, with the shirts, do you just do a shirt and diaper? Or do you put baby in pants as well?

Eta: I know it sounds like a silly question, but I know nothing about dressing babies and how much clothing they should wear...

I just bought some at Carter's.com since they are having a big Labor Day sale. I also then proceeded to buy a sweater, a fluffy jacket, a hat and some bibs. Sigh...

Whatever you feel like doing. Sometimes DD just wore a shirt/onsie and sometimes I put pants on her. She was swaddled for the first two months so it pretty much depended on how many pieces of clothing I felt like dealing with. She always wore pants if we went somewhere.

We used them just at the hospital mostly, so we stuck to the shirt/diaper combo. At home, I actually dress them, and use the shirts/onesies as an undershirt.

General rule of thumb is one layer more than you're comfy in.

I loved them with DS because it was easy to keep him in a kimono (wouldn't rub on his belly button) and a swaddler. That made changing his diapers very easy. After his belly button fell off I didn't use them as much.
