Slight throbbing pain near left ovary?

So this evening I have started to have a slight throbbing feeling on my left ovary or around it. Not really painful. Reminds me of when I ovulate actually. Not sure what it could be? I got pregnant through FET of a 5 day blast so not really concerned about ectopic. Anyone else have this?

I had this with my first but it was more painful which made me think of an ectopic and unfortunately mine was but it sounds like you don't really need to worry with a fet. If it becomes more noticeable/hurts all the time or more painful I would call and get an early scan done/betas

I have some twinges like my last pregnancy and I think it is normal. You can ask when you get your first scan to check and see if ovulated on the left side which could the explain throbbing.

  • It could possibly be the corpus luteum? I could be wrong there but the corpus luteum tells your body to make progesterone until the placenta to take over so it can cause so aching on the
side from ovulation, but it may not work that way with Ivf, not sure!

It might also possibly be early RLP? I've already found I have pains every so often on either side which I attribute to that. All the muscles begin to relax and can give crazy pains.

Lol, I hope I'm not talking straight out if my you-know-what when I say all this! :)

  • I had this with my first baby and am having it this time around too.   It feels exactly like ovulation "pain" (very minor) to me.  I read that it was normal  so I'm (trying not to) worry too much!  If I recall correctly, it went away after a few weeks, which sounds like pp might be right about it being corpus luteum, although I'm certainly no expert!

  • I've got the same thing, but on my right ovary. Dr. Google says it's probably the corpus luteum and it's pretty common. If it becomes painful though or you start bleeding, give your doctor a call ASAP in case of ectopic pregnancy (god forbid).

  • I'm having the same type of sensation.  At the moment, I'm happy to be feeling something because I hope that means baby will stick.  I think as long as its minor pain/discomfort, its fine.

  • Thanks everyone. It went away last night so I think all is well. Today makes it 5 weeks for me and I woke up pretty nauseated. :) I'm actually happy about that. :)
