hemorrhoids help..

I have had them for over a year and I know pregnancy makes it even worse but what I want to know is if there is any way to get rid of them completely with out having surgery? I've done it all and nothing has worked except drinking Phillips stoolsoftener wich I take every single day because without it I can't use the loo.. anything that worked for you?

Re: hemorrhoids help..

  • I'm sure you have tried this but have you used Preperation H and Tucks, they seem to work for me. Have you asked your doctor for something perscription strength?

  • I could be wrong, but I don't think anything will take them away completely besides surgery.

I don't have any good suggestions as I am sure you have tried all of the OTC remedies, but I hope you can find some relief soon!

  • I wish there was way nothing has worked for me. I was the talk of the ob floor after delivering my 4th. They were filling baby diapers wit water an freezing them for me it was the only relieve no meds helped. Wit my last they weren't as bad But still present I'm dreading deliver lol
  • As PP have mentioned, I'm pretty sure the only permanent remedy is surgery. Othwrwise, it is just a case of finding whatever it is that makes you the most comfortable.

  • Thanks I can probably only get surgery after the birth.. I'm crying already. . Thanks again for all the replies.
  • Ok. So this is an embarrassing topic, but seriously, talk to your doctor NOW. I mean now. I had this same issue. It got bad. I mean bad. I ended up with really huge ones and a prolapsed rectum. I had emergency surgery when I was about 6 1/2 months pregnant with DD. I've had 3 total surgeries to fix everything. Water. Hydrate. Colace. Fiber. I had witchazle pads shoved up between my ass cheeks. RX stuff ointments and numbing stuff. Epsom salt baths- hot, I mean HOT water. The surgery is awfully painful, I think it's worse than labor. You have to stay on top of them or they will get out of control & you'll end up like I did. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me. I feel SO bad for you.

  • BTW- there are ways to get rid of them, without surgery. It's kind of like using rubber bands....... I can't remember what it's called.
