2nd Birthday party

DS's 2nd birthday is coming up and I am trying to put together a plan on what to do. We had just family and a few close friends to our house last year and it was nice it just seemed kind of crowded (birthday is in March and it is still really cold here) so this year I thought about having it someplace else. We would have 6-7 kids ranging in age from 2 to 6. I thought about having it at our gymnastics place but I'm worried the adults won't really be into that (even though they can participate too). Also, if we do have it at home do you think 2 is too young to play games? I was thinking of doing something simple like pin the tail on the lion (we are doing a safari theme) and/or maybe a pinata. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: 2nd Birthday party

  • We recently went to a party at a gymnastics place. ?Many of the kids were 3 years old, but the older and younger ones liked it too. ?I personally think 2 year olds aren't old enough to get anything out of games like pin the tail on the donkey. ?Have it at a place with inflatables or a gymnastics place. ?The adults will be fine. ?Just have good food!

  • I planned a couple games and a scavenger hunt when Layla turned two. All those little kids just looked at me like I was nuts. The parents dragged them around and made them do everything just out of pity, I guess they could tell how hard I worked on it. But I won't be doing any at the twins' party in two weeks. I just don't think they're ready at that age. They did, however, at L's party- really enjoy the coloring station.
